No, they're primarily cleaner bots. [One of them hits the edge and crawls up the wall like a round spider.] I was looking into ways to have them help me carry things around. Maybe I can turn them into components of a magical shield, or I might teach them to bring me supplies as I'm working.
( watches the roomba climb the wall with intense external dispassion despite his internal wonder. every day, this place threatens to bowl him over. it hasn't happened yet, but soon, he thinks, something will make him fall flat on his ass and refuse to get back up. )
That's pretty clever. But if it doesn't work out, you could try asking a friend for help. ( he points at himself, head tilting. ) I get that we can't be everywhere at once, though... I'm sure the bots will come in handy.
Besides, there's lots of space on those for those "runes" you were talking about, huh?
Certainly. [He nods.] I don't want to play around with them too much until I have a finalized script. There might be something in the manual that can do some jobs for me.

...I could also install lasers to help me with measuring things at straight angles. Oh, and a built-in ruler. Handiwork will be so much easier.
